Striker Doyle in talks with Middlesbrough

Wolves striker Kevin Doyle is in talks with Championship side Middlesbrough over a possible loan move.

The Republic of Ireland International has scored 30 goals in 155 league games for the League 1 promotion chasers but isn’t in top scoring form this season, netting just 3 in 16.

Middlesbrough are set to let Lukas Jutkiewicz leave on loan to fellow Championship side Bolton which frees up space for Doyle to join the Riverside. Wolves signing Nouha Dicko from Wigan has also played a big part in Doyle leaving the club.

Wolves meanwhile have rejected a bid from Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic for fellow striker Leigh Griffiths.

The Scotland International joined Molineux in 2011 from Dundee but spent two successful seasons at Hibernian before returning to Wolves this Summer. He has 13 goals to his name this season and Kenny Jackett is keen to hold onto him.
